With over twenty years of first hand experience; "P.P.R.I." stands alone as an investigative research organization that not only seeks the truth behind the mystery, but also investigates events to the point of exhaustion. So far we have thoroughly investigated Elizabeth's Grave in Chillicothe, Ohio, the Ghost Town of Shantyville in Richmond Dale, Ohio, the Moonville Tunnel in Nelsonville, Ohio, Resurrection Cemetery in Waverly, Ohio, the Memorial Cemetery in Sarasota Florida , Crosskeys Tavern in downtown Chillicothe Ohio. Recently we had the honor of researching and walking through The Guest House Bed and Breakfast. This paranormal hotspot was oozing with activity. On May 3rd and 4th 2008, P.P.R.I. had the opportunity to investigate the various unexplained activities in the Point Pleasant West Virginia area, as well as the city of Boston Massachusetts. Through the years P.P.R.I. has investigated UFO sightings throughout the Midwest and Nevada, the enigmatic Mothman of Point Pleasant West Virginia. We've also interviewed eyewitnesses, and investigated Cattle Mutilations in Kentucky, West Virginia and Southern Ohio. P.P.R.I. has also conducted an investigation at a 300 year old cemetery in Beaufort North Carolina which just so happens to rest directly behind the former residence of Black Beard the Pirate. We've also researched and investigated the Crop formations in Peebles and Bainbridge Ohio, as well as an onslaught of Bigfoot sightings throughout Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Michigan, Vermont, South Carolina and Tennessee; and so much more.

My (Neal's) Quest

The quest for freedom of information has become a personal mission of mine. I have been an advocate for discovering and uncovering the truth since the age of 11 (1986). To some that may sound a little too young to become consumed with questions about such serious matters; however the JFK assassination, the Roswell incident, the Philadelphia Experiment, and other mysteries of the world, the universe and our society have always played a major role in not only our world, but also my own personal growth process. My journey started with fascinating stories that my Grandmother would tell me about local and regional ghost legends, UFO sightings, Bigfoot sightings and various other unworldly encounters. Personal experience also played a major role in my wide eyed wonder and reflection.

My Mother once shared a story with me about her own personal UFO sighting. She witnessed a huge craft above her home when she was fifteen. The UFO was larger than a football field, it hovered without making a sound, it was black and glistened; reflecting the night like a mirror with four light points per end of the triangle and one primary light in the center which rotated and swirled much like a marble under water. The area in which she lived was in the middle of Ohio's very own Paranormal Triangle (between Dayton's Wright Patterson Airforce base, Piketon's Uranium enrichment plant, and Peebles' very own "GE" Military facility where reverse magnetic polarity jet propulsion engines are tested in a secure area for weapons advancement).

In 1995 I formed a paranormal research team that went by the name Ohio Supernatural Alliance (OSA). We were also known as a comedy sketch group, but that's another story entirely. The group was active from 1995 - 1998. We tried to resurrect the team in 2004, however we had all grown apart, and some of us had moved away. On December of 2004, I befriended three individuals that had the same concept in mind, and after they realized that I have been doing this type of research since 1986, they were more than eager to get started with our own team. My new team was known as S.C.O.P.S. (South Central Ohio Paranormal Society). On January of 2008 My Wife and I left the group in order to spend more time with our new baby, and to pursue more of our own research in fields where we were more needed, and where we felt more comfortable. This is how Parks Paranormal Research and Investigation was started.

2009 will be a big year for us, and results we shall find. We will be documenting with Kodak and Olympus Digital Cameras, Panasonic SD Video Camcorders, Panasonic Digital Recorders for EVP purposes, and as always using our EMF Meters, and EMF Detectors. This year we will be adding Dowsing Rods, Geiger Meters and a new K 2 Meter. We will post our findings.

In the heart of America there rests a well known state that goes by the name Ohio (Cherokee for enchanted land). This quaint hard-working, under appreciated state is the centerpiece for the Mid-west's highest level of paranormal activity. Within the Appalachian Triangle there lies countless Bigfoot sightings, UFO encounters, crop circle formations, ancient civilizations, relics that have been left behind to tell the story of humanities advances, and a multitude of ghostly encounters. Behold. Ohio; The state with so much to discover.

On September 21st my team and I were invited to the 7th annual Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant West Virginia. I (Neal) was set to kick off Sundays festivities as a guest speaker. It was truly and awesome experience and a real honor to speak during the festival.

Majestic ghost tales inspire investigation

The Majestic Theatre is a breeding ground of ghost stories, making it a popular stop each October for the League of Women Voters ghost walk. Those stories and urban legends attracted Parks Paranormal Research and Investigation to make its rounds late Saturday night.

Group founder Neal Parks has been chomping at the bit for a chance to investigate the theater since his own ghostly encounter in a theater bathroom more than a decade ago. Neal had gone to the restroom and saw a man cleaning the floor, but no water splashed, there was no bucket and the man did not respond to Neal. In the balcony, he watched as the man disappeared through a door.

Kevin Coleman, local history buff who leads the ghost walk, chaperoned the group and provided a little concrete history of the theater. Although Coleman classifies himself as having a healthy skepticism about ghosts, he wanted to help promote the Majestic.

"I do my best to promote local culture, tourism and history," he said.

As the three-hour investigation got underway, the group of 13 bowed their heads as Neal said a prayer of guidance, asking to keep dark forces and presences away during the night. Many in the group had connections to the theater, which was built in 1853 after the fire of 1852 destroyed a fourth of town.

Sara McMain spent time performing at the Majestic for four years and recounted having seen mysterious blood in the boiler room after being locked in there as a prank.

"I've always just kind of had an eerie feeling being here. I never wanted to be alone in the Majestic," she said.

Although some of the eerinees of the theater revolves around the time of Camp Sherman when it was thought the Majestic was used as a temporary morgue, Coleman said the story has been exaggerated. One of those exaggerations was the embalming fluid supposedly was dumped into the alley behind the theatre. Research has shown there was a sewage system in place and was likely where fluids were disposed, Coleman said.

Armed with various pieces of equipment popular in the paranormal investigation field, such as EMF readers that detect electromagnetic fields and dowsing rods once used more to detect underground wells than ghostly energy, and plenty of digital cameras, the group embarked on a journey of the facility.

In some areas, such as the stage and ballroom, the group reported capturing "orbs" in pictures, and they also commented on the dust in the theater after turning off the lights and looking around with their flashlights. While many in the paranormal field look at most orbs as signs of spirits, many times they are dust particles or even backscatter due to the size limitations of the modern compact and ultra-compact cameras.

"I've got two orbs in the shot," Neal explained in the camera room overlooking the theater. "I'll have to zoom in on my computer to determine if it's a dust particle or an actual energy shot."

At the end of the night, among so many people, Neal said he has numerous photos to study and determine if he feels any have truly captured a spirit.

"Everyone had their own experience," Neal said.

The investigation at the Majestic will become part of Neal's second book on the paranormal which he hopes to be finished by the end of the year.
